What is the goal of a Brow Lift?

A brow lift, or forehead lift, tightens, rejuvenates, and refreshes the upper facial area around the forehead and eyebrows. The brow lift surgically removes bags of sagging skin from the brow area, eliminating lines and vertical creases between the eyebrows, as well as horizontal creases across the forehead.

What kind of results does a Brow Lift accomplish?

A brow lift rejuvenates the facial appearance by tightening the upper facial region, achieving the following results:

  • Lifts and tightens hanging skin in the brow region that may obstruct the patient’s vision.
  • Trims excess skin from thick, heavy eyebrows to make the eyes stand out more.

How is a Brow Lift performed?

A brow lift is performed under either local or general anesthesia, depending on your needs.  Scars are typically hidden in the hairline.  The procedure is generally used to elevate the lateral brow and improve brow shape and reduce visual obstruction that may result from a low brow position.

Can a Brow Lift be performed along with other procedures?

Many of our patients at Southeastern Aesthetic Surgery choose to combine the brow lift with other procedures, such as blepharoplasty to eliminate sagging skin around the eyes, or a neck lift to rejuvenate and tone the lower face and neck. Other procedures, such as FaceTite, may further enhance your facial rejuvenation, providing increased sculpting and definition.

How should I plan for recovery after a Brow Lift?

Plan to have a friend or family member drive you home after your surgery and provide routine care for several days while you restfully after your surgery. You will have to keep your head elevated for the first 48 hours, and there may be some swelling, numbness, and soreness around the incision area, as well as the eyes, nose, and cheeks, but this naturally subsides within a few days. In rare cases, patients may experience hair loss around the incision, but normal hair growth resumes naturally within a few weeks. The endoscopic brow lift causes significantly less discomfort than the traditional surgery, with a shorter recovery period.
