Dysport is a prescription injectable made from botulinum toxin type A (abobotulinumtoxinA), a neuromodulator that temporarily reduces the muscle activity that creates dynamic wrinkles. It is best known for smoothing the frown lines between the brows, the vertical creases often called the “elevens,” which is its FDA-approved use. Because Dysport spreads a little more than Botox once injected, many injectors like it for broader areas such as the forehead, and it often starts working within a couple of days. At 7 Seas Medical Spa, part of a board-certified plastic surgery practice, we carry both Dysport and Botox and help you choose the right one for your face and goals.

Skilled injector, surgeon oversight.

Your Dysport at 7 Seas Medical Spa is performed by Divya Gopal, PA-C, a licensed Physician Assistant and cosmetic injector who has practiced since 2021, and the injectables program is supervised by Dr. Troy Austin, who is certified by both the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery.

Neuromodulators look best when they are dosed and placed for your specific muscles, so you soften lines without looking frozen. Because we offer both Dysport and Botox, we are not steering you toward one product. Your injector recommends the one that fits your goals, and being part of a plastic surgery practice means real medical oversight the whole way.

The best result is one that still moves like you. We pick the product and the dose to fit your face, not the other way around. 7 Seas Medical Spa

What it treats

What Dysport treats.

Dysport is FDA-approved to smooth moderate to severe frown lines between the brows, and it is also used to soften other lines on the upper face.

Frown lines (the “elevens”)

Dysport’s signature use is the vertical creases between the eyebrows that deepen when you concentrate or frown. Relaxing those muscles softens the lines and gives a more rested look.

Forehead lines

Because Dysport spreads a little more evenly once placed, many injectors like it for the broad horizontal lines across the forehead.

Crow’s feet

Dysport can also soften the fine lines that fan out from the corners of the eyes when you smile or squint.

Is it right for you?

Am I a candidate?

Most healthy adults bothered by frown lines or other lines that appear with movement are good candidates for Dysport, whether you are new to injectables or looking for an alternative to Botox. It is a fit for softening existing lines and for slowing new ones from forming. Dysport is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or with certain neuromuscular conditions or allergies, including an allergy to cow’s milk protein. The best way to know is a consultation, where your injector reviews your history and goals and recommends whether Dysport or Botox suits you better.

What to expect

Quick, comfortable, no downtime.

A Dysport appointment is short and simple, and most people fit it into a lunch break.

Before

Your injector maps the muscles to treat based on your goals and how your face moves, and confirms whether Dysport or Botox is the better fit. A topical numbing cream is available if you would like it.

During

Using a very fine needle, small amounts of Dysport are placed into the targeted muscles. Most people describe only a quick pinch, and the whole visit takes about ten to twenty minutes.

After

You can return to your day right away. Avoid rubbing the area, lying flat, or intense exercise for the rest of the day, and skip facials for about 24 hours.

Small pinch, quick visit. A fine needle and about ten to twenty minutes, with no recovery time.

Dysport vs. Botox

Dysport or Botox?

Both are botulinum toxin type A and both relax muscles to soften lines. The differences are subtle, and neither is simply better. Your injector helps you choose.

Investment

How much does Dysport cost in Augusta?

Dysport is priced by the unit, and the number of units depends on the areas you treat and how strong the muscles are. One important note: Dysport is dosed in more units than Botox, so a lower price per unit does not mean a lower price per treatment. Your injector will map a plan and give you an exact quote at your visit so you can compare the two fairly.

Dysport units are smaller than Botox units, so per-unit pricing is not directly comparable between the two. Ask about current specials. Financing is available through Cherry, CareCredit, PatientFi, and Alle Financing.

Results

How long does Dysport last?

Dysport often starts to show within two to three days, reaches its full effect around two weeks, and lasts about three to four months.

Building and maintaining

  • You will notice lines soften as the treated muscles relax over the first couple of weeks.
  • As the effect wears off, movement gradually returns and lines slowly reappear.
  • Most people schedule maintenance a few times a year to keep results consistent.

Results vary from person to person based on your muscles, the areas treated, and your metabolism. Your injector fine-tunes your dose over time for the look you want.

Rested, not frozen. Softened frown lines while your expressions still feel like you.

Good to know

Dysport Questions.

What is Dysport and how does it work?

Dysport is a prescription injectable made from botulinum toxin type A (abobotulinumtoxinA). When a small amount is placed into a targeted facial muscle, it temporarily reduces that muscle’s activity, so the skin over it creases less and looks smoother. It works on dynamic lines, the ones that appear when you move your face, and is best known for frown lines.

Both are botulinum toxin type A and both relax muscles to soften lines. Dysport tends to start working a little faster and spreads slightly more once injected, which some injectors prefer for broad areas like the forehead. It is also dosed in more units than Botox. Neither is simply better, and your injector helps you choose based on your goals.

Dysport is FDA-approved and has been used for years to treat frown lines. Like any medical treatment it has risks, which is why it should be administered by a trained injector in a medical setting. At 7 Seas your treatment is performed by a licensed injector and supervised by a board-certified plastic surgeon, and your injector reviews your health history first.

Most people feel only a quick pinch. The needle is very fine, the injections are small, and a topical numbing cream is available if you would like it. The whole visit takes about ten to twenty minutes.

Dysport typically lasts about three to four months. Results often start within two to three days and reach their full effect around two weeks. Most people schedule maintenance a few times a year to keep their results consistent.

Dysport is priced by the unit, and it is dosed in more units than Botox because the two products are measured differently. That means a lower price per unit does not necessarily mean a lower price per treatment. You will receive an exact quote at your visit so you can compare Dysport and Botox fairly, and financing is available.

You will usually notice lines softening within two to three days, with the full effect around two weeks after treatment as the muscles fully relax.

The most common effects are temporary and mild: slight redness, swelling, or bruising at the injection sites, and occasionally a mild headache. These usually fade quickly. Your injector will review what to expect and how to care for the area.

Yes. Many people try Dysport after using Botox, or move between the two. Because we offer both, your injector can compare how each works for you and adjust your plan over time. There is no need to wait beyond your normal maintenance schedule.

Divya is truly the best! I have never been to a medical spa where someone took so much time to explain every single detail, what she was doing, why she was doing it, and what to expect. Her knowledge and professionalism immediately made me feel comfortable and confident. She never rushed me, answered all of my questions, and made the entire experience feel so personal. Divya, you’ve gained a customer for life, please don’t ever leave🥹🩵🙏🏻 In a smaller area like Augusta, it’s incredibly hard to find someone who is truly knowledgeable and passionate about what they do. I can honestly say I finally found my person😘My results look so natural, exactly what I wanted, and I couldn’t be happier. Thank you, Divya! I can’t recommend you enough❤️😘

Divya is truly the best!! She's honest, knowledgeable, and really listens. I always feel comfortable trusting her recommendations - so much so, I drive from Athens to Augusta just to have my treatments done by her. I've never had anything but a great experience with Divya.

DIVYA IS THE QUEEN OF INJECTIONS! Went to 7 seas about a month ago and got Botox in my neck and parts of my face. Divya was so knowledgeable and gave me advice on where to inject and how much. She knew exactly what I needed without going overboard. Now that it’s fully set in, I could not be happier specifically with my neck as well as my lip flip!
