Plastic surgery and medical spa treatments are constantly evolving to offer men and women options to achieve their aesthetic goals. Advancements reduce downtime while enhancing patient results. At Southeastern Aesthetic Surgery, we offer fat transfer procedures for men and women.
What is Fat Transfer?
Fat transfer is a technique that uses extra fat from your body to add volume and contouring to another area. You may want to consider a fat transfer if you prefer not to use dermal fillers and injectables. Fat transfers are minimally-invasive, require no downtime, and produce natural-looking results.
How a Fat Transfer Works
Fat transfer works by using liposuction to remove fat from one part of your body, such as your abdomen, buttocks, or back. The fat is then purified and injected into the area where you want to add volume and contouring. The fat can be reserved from your body contouring liposuction procedure, or we can harvest only what is needed for the fat transfer.
Types of Fat Transfer
At Southeastern Aesthetic Surgery, we offer two types of fat transfers – fat transfer and injections, as well as Beautifill® fat transfer. The key difference between the two treatments is how the fat is harvested.
Fat Transfer and Injections
Traditional fat transfer and injections involves using liposuction to remove donor fat. We use traditional liposuction techniques, as well as the SmartLipo™ laser-assisted liposuction system.
Beautifill® Fat Transfer
Similar to our SmartLipo™ system, Beautifill® is a laser-assisted liposuction system that removes fat from the body. The difference between the two systems is that Beautifill® is designed with a self-contained fat purification process. This helps preserve more live fat cells and may shorten the procedure time for fat transfers. Additionally, the Beautifill® system allows for micro-injections of fat for precise contouring.
Fat Transfer Treatment Areas
Fat transfers can be used for facial and body contouring. As part of your consultation, we recommend the best technique for the area that you want to enhance.
Facial Contouring with Fat Transfers
Facial contouring with fat transfers is ideal for men and women who want to reduce fine lines and wrinkles. Fat transfers are also recommended for adding contours to certain areas of the face, such as the cheeks and lips. This approach gives our patients an alternative to dermal fillers and injectables.
Body Contouring with Fat Transfers
If you need just a small amount of enhancement in your abdomen, buttocks, or breasts, fat transfers are a great option. Breast enhancements with the Beautifill® system allows for small changes to the shape and size of the breasts. The fat injections can be used with or without implants to enlarge the breasts. Fat transfers can also be used to fill in dimples in the breasts. In addition to breast enhancement, we also use fat transfers for the Brazilian butt lift, as well as to contour the abdomen. Fat transfers can also be used for men who want to contour the chest.
How Much Does Fat Transfer Cost?
The cost of a fat transfer procedure varies based on the technique, treatment area, degree of contouring, and other factors. If you plan to have a fat transfer procedure in conjunction with another procedure, this may affect the cost, as well. The best way to find out how much a fat transfer costs is to schedule a personal consultation at Southeastern Aesthetic Surgery.
