1. How long does blepharoplasty last?
The results of your blepharoplasty have the potential to last a lifetime. That being said, it’s important to remember that receiving a blepharoplasty will not stop the natural aging process. To better maintain the results of your blepharoplasty for the long run, Dr. Austin and his team may recommend supplementary minimally invasive treatments like Ultherapy® or laser therapy and skincare routines.
2. What is a good age for blepharoplasty?
At Southeastern Aesthetic Surgery, we don’t believe in a perfect age to receive blepharoplasty. Dr. Austin and his expert medical team are happy to provide eyelid surgery to patients as young as their 30s and as mature as their 70s. Ideal candidates for eyelid surgery are in good general health and have realistic expectations of their desired results.
3. How many times can you get blepharoplasty?
While there is no limit to the number of times you can receive eyelid surgery, patients typically don't have to undergo the procedure more than once. Blepharoplasty provides patients with the youthful, natural-looking results they desire for years to come.
4. How long after blepharoplasty do you see results?
Patients are able to see some results of their eyelid surgery immediately following treatment. That being said, ultimate results will become visible once all swelling subsides and the incisions made throughout the procedure are fully healed. This may take up to six weeks following treatment.
5. Is eyelid surgery painful?
Following your eyelid surgery, it’s normal to experience swelling, bruising, and tenderness around the eyes. These side effects are normal and typically resolve on their own within a few weeks of treatment. Dr. Austin and his team will be happy to provide you with detailed post-operative care instructions to ensure you have a comfortable and quick recovery.
